We encourage the submittal of original works of theory, history, critique, analysis, poetry, art, and creative non-fiction grounded within the philosophical tradition of Marxism-Leninism. We look specifically for explorations in communist studies from an applied Marxist-Leninist lens. More specifically, we are most interested in novel applications of Marxism-Leninism and dialectical materialism to fields such as philosophy, history, ecology, law, natural science, literary analysis, education, and more.
While we do not have a minimum or a maximum word limit, we encourage submissions within the range of 3,000 to 8,500 words; although larger or smaller works will also be considered. Article abstracts are not necessary, but they are welcomed.
We encourage submissions from those inside as well as outside of the academy and, unlike traditional scholarly journals, seek to democratize the production of and access to knowledge. We encourage all submissions, and look forward to reading your writing.
All accepted print submissions will also be run on our online platform.
We encourage writers to utilize a scholarly voice, references, citations, and endnotes where applicable; yet we do not, at the moment, set strict guidelines as far as style specificity (Chicago, APA, MLA, etc.).
We encourage writers to utilize the style most appropriate to their field and topic. When accepted, we will format accordingly for our online and print platforms, and will be sure to run all major editorial corrections and changes by the individual writers prior to publication. See the article below for an example of how our articles tend to be formatted in our print journal.
When you submit your materials, please submit them as either a .docx, a .pdf, or a .pages file to firstname.lastname@example.org, and be sure to include your name, or your preferred pen name, on the document, as well as a short 2-3 sentence author's bio.
Peer Review Process
Our editorial team engages in a thorough peer review process of all submissions.
Individual pieces of writing, poetry, and art first pass an initial content review before being passed along to our individual reviewers.
We utilize a blind, two-reviewer process, and aim to respond to submitters in a timely fashion.
